The Workshop is a serious downtown Saigon cafe, serving serious coffee, busy with serious young aspiration folk, looking like they’re doing important things.

The Workshop, sitting quietly on the corner of busy Ngo Duc Ke street, is a quaint coffee shop inflected with the type of austere greys and cerulean blues that make the perfect backdrop for the Italian beans it brews.

Everything at the Workshop is perfectly engineered to ensure that you fully appreciate your cup of coffee. This is also the best place to find some of the most famous Italian pastas like carbonara, bolognese and aglio e olio. The atmosphere is great for working with soft music playing in the background. You can focus and escape from the Saigon madness.

Nearly every imaginable brewing method is offered here so the experienced and highly educated staff will explain the differences for you. You can have your coffee made in a siphon filter, a Chemex, or a better-than-French-press Eva Solo. This one is excellent, particularly for those who like their cup bold!

Like most of the cool cafes in Saigon, to get to Workshop you’re required to hike up an old, unassuming worn out spiral staircase. The cafe is located on the top floor of the building at 27 Ngo Duc Ke Street. You can take a taxi to get there.
