Ly Son island in Quang Ngai province emerged as an attractive tourist destination with beautiful beaches named as the Maldives of Vietnam.

How to come to Ly Son island?

Ly Son Island is the only island district of Quang Ngai, 15 nautical miles from the mainland, including Big Island (Ly Son, also known as Cu Lao Re), Be Island (Bo Bai Island) in the North of Big Island, and Mu Cu island in the East of Big Island.

The only way to get to Ly Son Island is to take a ship from Sa Ky port, Quang Ngai. High-speed ship Sa Ky – Ly Son has 6 trips a day and 6 trips back. The operate times from 7:30 to 15:30. Fare varies from 115,000 VND to 155,000 VND / person (depending on route and option).

In addition, you can also take a wooden boat in case you cannot catch a passenger ship. Traveling by this boat is only about 30,000 VND / person, the running time is 2 hours 30 minutes.

Depart to Ly Son island.

Sa Ky port area is quite busy with many shops. The store serves relatively full. You can take a night off at Sa Ky port to light up the early ship to Ly Son island. Accommodation price at Sa Ky port is about 250,000 / 1 night.

There is a high speed ship ticket service at the motel. To buy a ticket to Ly Son island, you are required to present identifications (your Passport or your National ID Card). You can also bring a motorbike to the island to travel. The ticket for transporting a motorbike is 50,000 VND and the cost of loading and unloading is 20,000 / 1 turn – up or down. Unless you plan to stay on the island for more than 2 days and you want to save money, the advice is not to take your motorbike to the island. Apart from Ly Son Island, there are also full rental motorbike services at reasonable prices.

The ship runs about 30 minutes and you can see Ly Son Island appearing in the distance. Ly Son beach is praised very beautiful, not really exaggerated. In the wharf area, the clear blue water that allow you to see the sea floor.

Hotels or motels in Ly Son always have assistance to pick up guests at the Ly Son port. In addition to lodgings, Ly Son currently has more standard hotels. You should choose motels near the jetty for easy transportation.

Security in Ly Son is relatively strict. You have to present identification like passport or identity card when requested by the authorities.
Accommodation prices at Ly Son are relatively affordable. You can rent a room that is quite comfortable with the price of about 300,000 / 1 day. Motorbike rental price is 150,000 VND / unit / day. Motorbike covers all gasoline costs. If you run out of gas, call the motel to bring out the gas immediately.

Discover Ly Son island.

Attractions near the port area is the Duc pagoda. Near the Duc Pagoda, at the To Vo gate, you will see a wide and empty deserted road. This is a great area for you to explore the beautiful sea colors. Clear water with rocks and moss underfoot.

Duc Pagoda also has the official name of Dinh Liem Tu. Going out of the temple to climb high, there will be a small mountain that can climb. This mountain peak has a clear view, looking at almost a part of the island.

Try a Xu Xoa dish at the foot of Duc Pagoda. The dish is made from seaweed along with simple local ingredients.

Thoi Loi Mountain and Archway.

Streets in Ly Son island are in the stage of being upgraded to pour concrete. There are many sections being built very concave. The road to the mountain is a bit steep, so you have to hold the steering wheel firmly if you have a passenger behind.

The first stop is a flat rocky bend to take a picture. Ly Son is as beautiful as a gentle girl. Beautiful scenery: under the sea, the coral shows the colors, the mountains are flat but not dangerous.

You can also proceed to the National flagpole on the top of Thoi Loi Mountain.

 

Watching the sunset at To Vo gate is an experience that many tourists love. The scene is very beautiful when it comes to the image, but the reality is not very impressive.

Ly Son seafood night market.

At Ly Son wharf at night, there will be a seafood night market. Fresh seafood, come and choose to pay, then people prepare for. This price is not super cheap, but it doesn’t cut. Sea urchin 20,000 VND / unit (big and small depending on the product, but also 20,000 VND), oysters are 20,000 VND / big and 10,000 VND / small. Crabs are 600,000 VND / kg, lobsters are 1,200,000 VND / kg, and the moon snails and nacre are 60,000 VND – 80,000 VND / kg.
